Ovarian cancer is the seventh most common cancer among women worldwide, but Dr. Tang Yuan Chu is working to make it the rarest. The accomplished professor and deputy director for the Insitute of Medical Sciences at Tzu Chi University will be speaking at this year’s China Conference!
At the end of 2015, Dr. Chu and his team at Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital in Taiwan published the results from their six year study of ovarian cancer. Dr. Chu discovered that ovarian cancer does not begin to develop in the ovaries but in the fallopian tube. This discovery sheds new light on the disease and has led doctors, Chu included, to develop more effective ways of preventing the cancer in Taiwan and across the world. According to the National Cancer Institute, an estimated 14,180 women in the U.S. died from ovarian cancer in 2015.
Join us at BYUCC 2016 to listen to Dr. Tang Yuan Chu!
